Lauren graduated Magna Cum Laude from Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island in 1986. After relocating to Reno from Philadelphia, she started in the insurance industry in 1989 with a large company that specialized in ancillary employee benefits. Lauren then changed her focus and went to work for a Fortune 100 national managed care company. Understanding how an insurance company works in the underwriting, contract negotiation, customer service, and product design aspects has given her a unique and valuable perspective for her clients. She became a broker in 1997 and built a large, successful client base of Nevada and California employers, as well as several multi-location groups across the country. She has served as local president as well as a state board member for the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. She currently sits on the broker advisory committee – one a local HMO in the Reno area and one large national carrier. Realizing the need for a comprehensive, client focused employee benefits agency, Lauren co-founded Benefit Resource Group in 2003.
